The Beach, Can you Dig It?

All dogs visiting the beach have a different way of enjoying the beach. This Dalmation spent a lot of time digging in the sand.










This Boston Terrier had no interest in swimming, but was willing to put her toes in at least.












This JRT, my Molly, is still pouting that she wasn't chosen for the cover of Salty Dogs!

Summer is finally here!

The life guarding stations , I think they look like some kind of weird Stars Wars fighters, are back out of storage.













The waves are building .

So it is time to hit the beach!

The next best thing!

Molly is enjoying looking at her advance copy of Salty Dogs. Reading the book is going to be the next best thing to being at the beach! The book will be out Sept 24th. While Molly likes to look at the pictures of her, there are pictures of Labs, Goldens, German Shepherds, Rat Terriers, Borzoi, Welsh Springer Spaniels, Wheaton Terriers, Boston Terriers and more. All of them are enjoying the beach in their own way.

Dry now but wait till later!

With a wash and wear dog, I often look at the dogs with big coats and think how I wouldn't want to have to deal with cleaning them up later!

Ball Freak!

Just because Basenjis are sighthounds doesn't mean they can't be ball freaks as well.

I know that rascally sand crab is down here somewhere. Where did he go?

Play time!

It really doesn't take much to please a dog. A sunny day, their favorite human and a stick to play with is all most dogs need!

Let's see, a sunny day, no leash, a ball to retrieve, how can this not be heaven on earth!

Where is the toy?

Dang waves sure can make it hard to find the toy. Some of them slip away never to found on this shore again. I always wonder if some other lucky dog down the coast gets a gift from Neptune when the toy washes up later

Keeping a safe distance this JRT checks out the wave action. Later he leapt right in and swam with the big boys.

Slow Dog

No matter what speed you move at , the beach is the place for fun. Elvis enjoyed just ambling along the beach , meeting and greeting all his friends.

Tailess Wonder!

Darcy has not let the loss of her lovely tail curtail her swimming. Even with out her Lab rudder , she is able to get out and get the buoy!

Can you dig it?

These girls needed a helping paw to start their sand castle. Molly was more than willing to help, or should I say hinder?

Irish Setter Retriever!

This Irish Setter is enjoying the beach. He was quite a mess when he got done swimming, but it was worth it!

I'm not leaving!

NO, it can't be true, it is not time to leave! Be glad I am a puppy now, when I am full grown it might be hard to make me leave when I don't want to!

Best Friends!

No matter the weather, the beach is the best place to be with your best friend.

Scoop the Poop!

If you love taking your dog to the beach, be sure to scoop the poop! Take along extra bags so you can pick up what others left behind. I once had to pick up the poop of a St Bernard because the owner forgot a bag. Try that with little sandwich bags which are perfect for a JRT size poop!

The biggest reason for closing beaches to dogs is the poop, so please scoop the poop!

Heaven is a buoy!

Nothing is better than a buoy at the beach!
