Early Morning Fun!

Dawn's first light is often the nicest time at the beach. The beach is empty, the dogs are full of energy and best of all the light is georgeous!

Going out!

Don't forget when your dog is swimming at the beach to watch for riptides. Dogs can and do get pulled out to sea just like human swimmers. Just last month a woman drowned trying to save her dogs at the beach!
Today the Winchester Star has a nice article about Salty Dogs, click the highlighted text to read all about it! Type in salty dogs to the search feature to find the page the article is on.

Flying Poodle!

On our recent trip to the Outer Banks, I happened to look down the empty beach to see a joyful dog playing.

The more I watched, the more I knew I needed to get off my duff and head down to see what breed it was.

Meet Seashell! One of the most exhuberant dogs I have photographed on the beach. I loved capturing her airs above the ground moves!

A Stick, Add a Dog, Have Fun!

This is Kona, Kona is patiently waiting for her human to give the big stick a toss.

Finally a thrown stick to fetch

Heaven is the beach and a stick to many dogs. You don't need expensive toys, just a stick found washed up along the beach

Empty Beach!

How often do you go to the beach and find it completely deserted? If you go after New Years, the Outer Banks are empty.

You can't help but reflect that this is how the beach would have been 100 years ago. The dunes hid all the beachfront houses and when the fog rolled in, I could also see a ghost ship hovering off the coast.

Happy as a Clam!

Digging for clams is fun, but the sand crabs are the best ! While the weather was beautiful at the Outer Banks, the rascally sand crabs were hard to find.

Molly just hd to make do with rolling in plenty of dead stinky things! Ahhh, what a life!

New Year Fun!

We can all use a little help from our friends! When digging for gold, or maybe just dead fish, three noses is better than one!

M
Molly and I are headed to the Outer Banks for a week of fun and relaxation. I will be back with new Salty Dogs in my files!
